1968 – 1984 Maintained and operated the “Dutchess II”, an 86’ Stephens Motor Yacht owned by Weldon W. Poole, Poole Lumber Company, Covington, Louisiana.  Multiple electronic installations, mechanical repairs, supervised major bottom refit.  Operated vessel in Louisiana Delta, Mississippi Sound and Gulf of Mexico waters.

1993 – 1996 Owned and operated “Oceantide”, a 76’ Trans Atlantic Steel Motor Yacht.  Extensive cruising in the Pacific from San Diego to Panama Canal, West Caribbean Sea, followed by multiple voyages to/from Lauderdale waters.  Lived aboard and underway during entire ownership.  Vessel sold substantially above market value and purchase price, no survey exceptions and presently in Holland.  Reference:  lebontempsroule.org/oceantide_76.htm

1996 – 1998 Owned and operated “Oceantide II”, a 64’ Hatteras LRC.  Extensive cruising in Puget Sound, San Juan Islands, Canadian waters, Prince Edward Sound, Pacific coastline, San Francisco Bay, Sacramento River Delta, Mexico, Sea of Cortez, Gulf of California, Costa Rica, Panama Canal, West Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico and multiple trip to/from Lauderdale waters.  Lived aboard and underway during entire ownership.  Vessel sold above market value and purchase price, no survey exceptions and presently in San Juan Islands, British Columbia.  Reference:  lebontempsroule.org/previously_owned_vessels.htm

1998 – 2009 Own, operate and personally refitted an Antique 1930, 86’ Wooden Commuter Yacht “Le Bon Temps Roule”, used exclusively for raising money for charity on the Tchefuncte River, Madisonville Louisiana.  Over 1200 trips or 6000 hours, carrying 30 to 60 passengers per trip.  The “Le Bon Temps Roule”, was completely C-Flexed and mechanically majored by Burns and operated daily for 6 years raising over $750k for local charities. The vessel was sold in 2004 and repurchased in 2007.  The vessel is now 79 years old and the most active vessel on the Tchefuncte River.  She is mechanically and cosmetically maintained by Burns.   Reference: lebontempsroule.org

2001 – Current  Purchased, outfitted and operate a 65’ Steel Motor Yacht, “Dulcinea”, for Dr. C. R. Tillman, Natchez, Mississippi.  Personally outfitted vessel in Fort Lauderdale Florida with all electronics, safety equipment, ground tackle, charting, etc.; including bunk linen to galley utensils.  Delivered vessel to Louisiana and operate often in Louisiana and Mississippi Sound waters.  Vessel surveyed yearly from acquisition into 2009 with no exceptions and highly valued.  Vessel is currently under daily supervision and maintenance of Burns.  Reference:  lebontempsroule.org/dulcinea_prep.htm

2004 – 2005 Surveyed, operated and maintained a 55’ Flemming Motor Yacht, “Outbound”, purchased by Cappy Stahlman, Natchez, Mississippi.  Supervised haul outs, performed all repairs, installations, operated vessel in Louisiana waters and assisted owner until departure of vessel for East Coast.  Reference:  lebontempsroule.org/outbound/htm

2004 – Current  Operate and assist Woodus Humphrey, owner of the “Stay Lady Stay”, a new San Juan 38’ picnic boat, making multiple installations and performing sea trial adjustments. 

2005 – Current  Built and Supervise “Saw Mill Docks”, a 28 slip marina located on the Tchefucte River within the city limits of Madisonville Louisiana and owned by Genita S. Poole.  Assist all tenants with their mechanical, electronic and general boating needs.

2005 October  Assisted Woodus Humphrey in the selection, sea trial, and purchase of a 61’ Cheoy Lee Trawler in San Diego California.  November 2005  Outfitted the vessel at Driscoll Boatyard, San Diego.  December 2005  Assisted in moving the vessel from San Diego to Puerto Vallarta Mexico.  February 2006:  Assisted in moving the vessel to Bahia Navidad and back to Puerto Vallarta.  May 2006  Assisted in moving vessel from Puerto Vallarta to Seattle Washington.  Reference:  lebontemsproule.org/voyageofoasis.htm

2006 September, Delivered 38’ San Juan “Stay Lady Stay”, from Madisonville to Lauderdale for boat show.

2007 April, Assisted in moving 38’ San Juan “Stay Lady Stay”, from Fort Lauderdale to Madisonville Louisiana.  Lost port propeller abeam of Biloxi, supervised repairs in Biloxi and continued on to Madisonville.

2007 July, Repurchased “Le Bon Temps Roule” and moved her from Green Turtle Bay Kentucky to Madisonville, Louisiana. 

2008 August, Assisted in moving 38’ San Juan “Stay Lady Stay”, from Destin Florida to Gunnersville, Alabama.

Multiple Power Squadron classes through the years, past CPR instructors’ instructor for the American Red Cross.  Past NAUI instructors’ instructor.  Excellent health.
