Dulcinea Outfitting

Yacht Management, Dania Florida

On January 5, I flew to Lauderdale to assist a close friend, Randy Tillman, with the purchase, outfitting, and delivery of a 65' Real Ship.  The vessel was moved to Yacht Management on January 6th, where we painted the bottom, changed out a cutlass bearing, and waxed and polished the hull.  Simultaneous to the haulout, we started canvas work, electronic installations, and mechanical upgrades.  Special items installed were:  ComNav autopilot with full Mathers' remote, Sea Tel Receiver, Comark Antennas, Horizon VHF with multiple RAMs, safety gear, emergency raft, and much more.  Cathy joined me on January 16th, and completely outfitted the galley and quarters with pillows to pots.  The vessel was moved to Jackson Marine on January 18th, for the construction of a bimini top, which was built in place in a few hours.  On the morning of January 22, we headed South to Miami, Key West, Naples, South Sea Plantation, Carrabelle, Panama City, Destin, Pensacola, Slidell, and arrived in Madisonville on Sunday Feb 8th.  Below are a few photos of the vessel while in the yard and underway.  Dulcinea will be moored in Madisonville North of Friends' restaurant, near the Le Bon Temps Roule.  Cathy and I really enjoyed the venture.  It gave us a chance to visit with Lauderdale friends and refresh or knowledge of marine vendors.  The trip home was more of a mission than pleasure, but it was fun to initiate the electronics and perfect our applications.
