Haul Out 2000
On May 30, we picked the Le Bon Temps Roule up at the Trinity Yachts yard in New Orleans using a 275 ton travel lift. In the past, the vessel had been lifted at the Myers yard on an elevator. This was the first time the boat had ever been lifted using straps. We knew we were taking a chance, as the rolling shocks were in bad shape and would possibly fold when the weight was realized. As expected, the rolling shock on the port side not only attempted to roll up, it also compressed breaking a number of frames in the engine room. The boat was quickly blocked and the hull returned to it's proper proportions. We had intended to remove the rolling shocks during this haulout, but have now elected to C-Flex the entire hull below the waterline. This process will bring many additional years of utility to the boat.
Pictures of the C-Flex process are now posted under the hyper-link at the bottom of this page.
