Charity Cruise Information
The "Le Bon Temps Roule" was the perfect boat for cruising the beautiful Tchefuncte River. We accommodated up to 60 people comfortably and safely, offering multiple lounging and serving areas. The forward salon was configured with a wet bar, TV for sports fans, and seating for six. The center (dining) salon had a large dining table that seated eight. There was a large covered lounging deck over the cabins that was the perfect place to nest on trips up the river or at anchor. There was also a large serving area on the stern of the vessel. We confined our trips to the meandering of the Tchefuncte River, traveling up river first to the convergence of the Abita River and then down river to Lake Pontchartrain where we often anchored to watch the sunset.
During the months of October through December of 1999, the Le Bon Temps Roule cruised the Tchefuncte River multiple times raising $10,000 for community charities. By October 1, 2001, we raised over $100,000. As of July, 2002, we have made over 450 trips up the Tchefuncte and raised over $250,000. Ultimately, we ran the river over a 1000 times, raising over $750,000 for local charities.
